Layhead is centrally situated to explore the Three Peaks in the Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland. This area abounds with wonderful scenery - hills, caves and waterfalls - and there are many attractive small market towns and villages to explore.

There are outdoor markets on Tuesdays in Settle and Monday, Wednesday, Fridays and Saturdays in Skipton. There are also farmers markets on some Sundays in Grassington and Skipton . On wet days there are many mill shops and shopping outlets to visit.
