Layhead Farm Holiday Cottages - for all seasons, for all reasons
Layhead Farm Cottages in the Yorkshire Dales offer the perfect location whether you want to retreat from the world or enjoy a family gathering.
Our beautiful 18th century farmhouse and its stone barns have been converted into comfortable Yorkshire Dales holiday cottages. We've kept their charm and character, but added modern features such as WiFi. In 2020, the WiFi system was updated so that each cottage now has super-fast fibre-optic broadband to the property. Each cottage is also equipped with good quality linen and towels, has its own garden/outdoor space, private parking, and stunning views over the rolling countryside.
Tucked away down a private and secluded lane, Layhead Farm lies close to the village centre of Rathmell near Settle. The cottages are set within traditional dry stone walled fields that stretch up to the moors and fells and down through the lush meadows of the River Ribble Valley also near by is the spectacular area of outstanding natural beauty - the Forest of Bowland.
Layhead Farm is a beautiful peaceful retreat, yet only three miles from the market town of Settle with its shops, restaurants and pubs. Many use it as a base to explore the Three Peaks, enjoy a ride on the Settle - Carlisle Railway and to visit the Yorkshire Dales' and Forest of Bowlands' great attractions and cosy pubs.
With 8 cottages, sleeping a total of 45 people in very flexible accommodation, the cottages are the perfect place for friends and family to gather for a special celebration.
Layhead Farm Holiday cottages are owned by Rosemary Hyslop who, with her late husband Tim, farmed the surrounding land until 2001. Over a period of 22 years the cottages have been developed from original farm buildings into first class, self-catering holiday accommodation with an emphasis on hospitality.
Rosemary lives near the cottages at Field House and makes sure that all ages have an enjoyable stay. Many guests return to Layhead Farm again and again.
